Emergency Evacuation for the Aged Care

Environment

The program provides staff in the working environment with an awareness and practical skills for maintaining and emergency evacuation situation. This course provides information about the importance of organisational roles and responsibilities, procedures and different types of emergency evacuation scenarios.

Course Content

  • Identifying and describing different types of emergency incidents such as fire, chemical exposure due to leaks/spills, explosions, gas leakage, bomb threat, flood or severe storms, aggressive or threatening clients, intruders, or medical emergency.
  • Explain elements of human behavior in emergencies.
  • Identifying common building safety equipment and it’s location.
  • Importance of practicing emergency evacuation procedures and location of sale assembly areas.
  • Importance of keeping records of incidents and practice emergency evacuations to learn and improve strategies.
  • Location of emergency equipment.
  • Security and access in emergencies.
  • Practical exercise.
